Fiserv CBS Worldwide Signs Arizona’s Largest Credit Union

November 16, 2007

Brookfield, Wis., November 16, 2007 - Fiserv CBS Worldwide, a division of the Fortune 500 Company, Fiserv, Inc., announced today that Desert Schools Federal Credit Union based in Phoenix, Arizona, has chosen Fiserv as its technology partner to implement its retail banking strategy.

Founded in 1939 by a group of school teachers, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union is a $3 billion strong, member-owned financial institution, focused on serving the financial needs of Maricopa, Pinal and Gila County residents.

As the largest credit union in Arizona, Desert Schools serves a diverse and growing membership of more than 350,000 and prides itself on offering stellar service and customized financial solutions, through its network of more than 60 branch locations, 100 ATM's and online presence.

In order to uphold its prime market position and to protect the current high level of brand loyalty it enjoys, Desert Schools chose Fiserv's solutions to help it expand into additional markets while maintaining its current member base.

"I am proud of the Information Technology talent within our organization. Our team has worked hard to create an environment of high system availability and redundancy. Fiserv's partnership with IBM along with its comprehensive suite of business solutions align well with our commitment to ensure a great member experience," said Gary Laieski, assistant vice president, Technology, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union.

The ability to offer seamless channel integration to clients was of primary key importance to Desert Schools. With Fiserv's solutions, including CBS retail banking, CBS Desktop (front-end customer sales and servicing solution), and CBS Communicator (integration layer), as well as Fiserv Imagesoft (imaging and check archiving) and collaboration with incumbent Fiserv Summit on wireXchange® (facilitates wire transfers), Desert Schools will be able to meet its annual growth target in an already-challenging marketplace.

"Being part of one of the fastest growing markets today, Desert Schools recognizes that in order to grow and enhance its value to its members, nimble product offerings and the ability to offer seamless service are essential," said Dave Santi, president, Fiserv CBS USA. "Fiserv plans to use technology to help Desert Schools differentiate itself in the marketplace and to meet the ever-advancing needs of its members."
